Sons of Anarchy - S6, E4 - "Wolfsangel" Review

The last episode had one hell of a cliffhanger. How did it turn out? Read on!

Well, that was a load of craziness, wasn't it? I'll get to all that in a moment, but first I'll talk about Tig's fate, which obviously didn't look good in the last episode. Once he showed up at Jax's door the next morning, my jaw dropped. Apparently, August was testing Jax's loyalty, but the best part was that August told Jax later on that if he could get the gun distribution that Jax is trying to get rid of, then Tig's debt would be paid. I'd like to hope for a happy ending to that scenario, but I doubt it will happen. Tig isn't stupid, and this is evident when he told Jax about August showing up at that warehouse... and the fact that the prospects never did. When he said, "Am I good with you, Jax?" my first thought was that this isn't over.

In retribution for the murder of a Nazi in prison, which Clay committed, some Nazis showed up at the clubhouse and attacked Unser, carving a swastika into his chest. This led to a lot of interesting showdowns. First, Unser's concern about the kids, and the question of "what if they were with him during the attack", was a nice setup for his conversation with Tara later on. It looks like Tara and Unser will be working together to get the kids out of Charming. Oh, and Wendy can help with that too, being that she is actually working with Tara! Yep, that fake story that she told Gemma in the last episode was just something that Tara told her to do; in fact, Tara is telling Wendy to feed Gemma all information regarding her plans for the kids. This is interesting because I'm assuming Tara is setting up Gemma in some way, which I can't wait to see, since Gemma needs to finally learn her place.

Also, the attack led to some good confrontations between the Club and the Nazis. The Club visited Darby, assuming that he still had ties with his old crew, but he was actually living a clean life, though he was still able to help find their location for the Club. After their first attempt at trying to talk the situation out with the Nazis, the Club went back to the house and, without a word, murdered every single Nazi. But, this happened because Jax was a little pissed off at someone else at the time and wanted to take it out on somebody.

Ah, the Irish... Yes, Jax had a lovely little meeting with the Galen, once again, about getting out of the gun business. Jax tried to get the San Bernardino charter to take the business, but they voted against it. On a side note, a member from that charter showed up in this episode to tell Jax in person, and it just happened to be the very awesome Robert Patrick! Hopefully, he'll be in the show a bit more, but with him also being on True Blood, I'm not sure. Anyway, after Galen told Jax that he wasn't getting out of guns, there was a small scuffle and Jax punched Galen, telling him that he's done and that he would let the Irish know when, and if, they need guns again. "Until then, hands off my Club" led to Galen literally murdering poor Phil, as well as a prospect, and sawing off their hands, laying them on their jackets for Jax to find... Things are about to get serious real quick, as it looked like Jax was already starting his search for Galen at the end of the episode.

But, that's not all, folks! There were other crazy things that happened in this one, namely some great moments between Toric and Otto. When Toric took Clay to see Otto, as a way of showing Clay what awaited him, Clay hugged Otto, snuck him a knife, and said "No more, brother." I had assumed that Otto was now going to kill himself... until the scene where Toric visited Otto later on. Toric tried to get Otto to turn on the Club by having him write down any kind of evidence against them. After a thoughtful message about Toric's sister, Toric tried to strangle Otto, but got stabbed a few times instead. It was pretty intense to see the guards run in and then see Otto cut Toric's throat. I was shocked, because I thought Toric would be the "villain" this season, but now I understand that the Irish are going to fill that void. Unfortunately, Otto didn't last after he killed Toric, as he was gunned down by the guards.

RIP Otto...
