Sons of Anarchy - S6, E3 - "Poenitentia" Review

Here is the latest (and literally very late) review for Sons of Anarchy. Read on!

Ah, Lee Toric... what a psychopath you are. So, he actually did sleep with that escort that he gave his address to in the last episode. But, when he noticed the DA approaching his hotel room, the escort startled him and he turned around and shot her. He tried to calm her down by laying her down, putting a pillow on her face and then shooting her again. The fact that he was so calm about it was a bit disturbing. Speaking of disturbing, he had another scene later on when he questioned a couple of Nero's crew members about the whereabouts of Arcadio and Darviny. Since he had them tied up, he decided to have a beer, and when he couldn't find a bottle opener, he tried used their teeth instead. The funniest bit was when he said, "What do ya know? Twist-off." Again, Donal Logue does an amazing job in this role, it's just incredible. Even when he's attempting to frame Nero for the escort's murder, he makes me hate him, which I just consider a great job by Logue.

I liked the scene between Jax and Clay at the prison, but not so much because of Jax's speech in front of the two-way mirror when he's talking to Toric, but because of the bombshell that Clay dropped. Apparently, he wanted to tell Jax that he's not turning on the Club! I did not see that coming. Is Clay actually sorry for the things he's done? I guess only time will tell, considering that we find out later about Jax and August's plan to keep Clay alive because he's needed for the breakaway from the Irish. Damn, he really has nine lives, doesn't he? There's something that I don't like about this situation, and I'll get to that in a minute.

We saw a bit more of Peter Weller's Barosky in this episode, which wasn't always necessarily a good thing. It was a bad-ass moment when he killed one of the pornographers that participated in the drive-by shooting, but later when Jax found Barosky having sex with Colette, there was a really creepy exchange of looks between Jax and Barosky... I think it'll come out later that Barosky can pretty much have Colette whenever he wants, and he likes to shove that fact in Jax's face. But I have to wonder, why the hell would Jax care when he's married to Tara?? If you someone like that at home, why would you cheat on her? I don't get it. But, that's just my opinion.

On a couple of random notes, Tara is pregnant, and for some reason I find myself questioning whether or not it's Jax's kid. I don't know why, but for now I'm going to question it. Also, the bruises that Wendy displayed when she told Gemma that story about her attack were fake. That's a question that will hopefully be solved in the next episode, because I have no idea why she would make up that story.

Now, the thing that I didn't like about Jax and August's deal was that Jax gave August the location that Tig would be at later that night. To be honest, I should've known that's how it would go down, especially when Jax and Tig were talking and Jax kissed him on the cheek, it looked like goodbye. But, the moment where I almost couldn't watch was at the very end where Tig turned around and August was there with a few of his men; the look on Tig's face was heartbreaking.

I may have mentioned this in a previous review, but if they kill off Tig, I'm going to be extremely pissed. Knowing the way this show works, I wouldn't be surprised if he did die, only because Sutter isn't afraid to kill off characters that the audience likes. I should appreciate that level of boldness, but not when it comes to Tig, damn it.
