Sons of Anarchy - S6, E2 - "One One Six" Review

I apologize for the late review. So, after the premiere's controversial episode, how did this entry compare? Read on to find out!

Once again, a lot happened, so I'll just dive right into it:

As usual, both Jax and Tara are hiding stuff from each other, so there was this awkward silence between the two of them. I'm not looking forward to a drawn out thing where Jax takes five episodes to come clean about sleeping with that escort/prostitute in the first episode, but I am curious what Tara is really up to. With Jax wanting to stay in Charming, because he feels like he owes it to Opie apparently, Tara is going to be thrilled about that.

Bobby is still recruiting for Nomads. Do we care?... Seriously.

I thought the conversation with Gemma and Clay was interesting, because of how realistic it was. In other words, no matter how much Clay ever hurt Gemma, he is still her one weakness. Also, it was funny to see her get back to being herself when she met Toric.

On a small side note, I have to say that I love it whenever Jax meets up with the Irish, specifically Galen. There's always so much tension there, and now there's bound to be even more with Jax's new outlook on guns. We'll see if that other charter will take the guns off Jax's hands.

Much to my regret, I can no longer refer to Navarro as "Navarro", because he was given a name in this episode: Arcadio. Anyway, Arcadio and his 'old lady', Darviny, are brought to the club's cabin, where Darviny won't have the chance to be questioned by the police about her son and the school shooting. She's also a recovering drug addict. You can see where this is going. She gets paranoid that the club is going to kill her, tries to escape with Arcadio, and Nero ends up shooting Arcadio in the head. Oh, by the way, Arcadio and Nero were cousins. Rough day for Nero, huh? Later on, Darviny gets offed as well when Jax orders Juice to drug her up and then smother her; this was without Nero's knowledge, so he gets pretty upset that an innocent woman is now dead. I have a feeling that when Jax lied to him about it, Nero knew what really happened, and that will come into play later (Jimmy Smits was great in this scene, by the way). This was definitely a new low for Jax. I feel as though I'm starting to hate him more and more each week.

So, the episode ended on some strange notes (and a montage once again) as we saw some more character moments: Jax and Tara were having sex, and neither one of them looked remotely into it, which begs the question of how that 'conversation' even started. Toric visited Nero's escort service and gave his info to one of the ladies; so, was he actually there looking for a good time, or is he up to something else? I guess we'll find out next week.

RIP Navarro/Arcadio... you had one crazy girlfriend.
